Osteoarthritis of knee joint - Exercises





Things to follow:

-Do not sit on floor.always use chair or sofa or table for sitting.
-Do not claimb stairs excessively.
_-Do not use pillow under knee joint while sitting.
-While standing or walking always wear knee cap.
-If you are obese them reduce your weight of body.


EXERCISES FOR OSTEOARTHRITIS OF KNEE JOINT:

1) knee press:

Position is long sitting with back supported.


Then press knee in downward direction.
Press knee for five  second,then relax the knee joint.





Another way to do this exercise is to put roll of napkin below knee joint and then press knee for 5 second.
Remember that in this exercise you can not lift your leg.









‌2)last degree of knee extension.

Patient is in, long sitting with, back supported.
Put roll of, towel ,below knee joint.




-
Then lift your leg .hold that position for five seconds,and slowly get back to starting position.

3)STRETCHING :


-patient is in long sitting position with back supported.

                    .                    
- then pull your foot from ankle at your side hold for atleast 20 to 30 sec .
then relax.

*IF THIS THREE EXERCISE NOT POSSIBLE IN LONG SITTING THEN DO IT IN SUPINE POSITION.


4)STRIGHT LEG RAISE:
 

- patient in supine lying .keep both leg straight.

- then raise your painfull leg upto 40 degree hold that position for 5 sec then get back to starting position.

૫) પગ વાળવો:




ઊંધા સુઈ બન્ને પગનાં પંજા પલંગ બહાલ રહે એ રીતે સીધા પગ રાખી સુવું.
પછી દુ:ખતો ગોઠણ ધીમેથી જયા સુધી વળી શકે ત્યાં સુધી વાળવો.પછી ધીમેથી નીચે સીધો મુકવો.

6)LEG RAISE:

- sit on table or chair.hold chair with your hand by side.
- then raise your painfull knee .hold that position for 5 sec.and slowly down your leg to starting position.


 -Do all exercise 10- 10 times and stretching 3 times in single session and do three session in a day.
